ATI CDB-8-11 Deburring tool
The smart alternative to manual hand deburring tools. The CDB-8-11 is a motorless tool for cobots that uses standard deburring blades to precisely process edges on plastic, aluminum, and steel.
Description
The ATI CDB-8-11 deburring tool (Compliant Deburring Blade) was developed to automate the classic manual deburring process. It is particularly versatile as it does not have its own motor, but functions like a spring-loaded hand tool guided by the robot.
The decisive advantage: the contact pressure is controlled by air pressure. This enables extremely delicate processing ("soft touch"), which is particularly important for sensitive components or soft materials such as plastic. Since no rotational heat is generated, melting of the edges is prevented.
The patented mechanism allows the blade to move both radially (to the side) and axially (up and down). This ensures consistent deburring results even with cast or molded parts that have dimensional deviations.
